About the gameThis game was my senior project at the Arcata Arts Institute in 2015.
You can choose between two different characters - me as a high school student, or me as an elementary student. The elementary student version is hard mode, due to much less advantageous attacks. (Sort of like me in elementary school!) Stats for the player can be modified to suit the build you would like. All sprites and art in this game are made by myself, and I coded the game in GML using Game Maker 8. This game stayed in the early stages, but I recommend trying this one! ![]()

Programming
This game was a bit of a therapeutic experience for me. I made a game comparing the two main chunks of my life to me at the time--elementary Sierra vs. high school Sierra.
The high school Sierra, on the left, is a mage who can use several different spell types. This allowed for an easier playthrough, hands down. The elementary school Sierra, on the right, is a melee-based werewolf-type character, requiring much more risky gameplay to get through all the levels. At the time, I had been playing a lot of Dungeons & Dragons, so a stat roll screen seemed natural.
Art & Level Design
This game was really about getting my programming and game design down, and therefore I put art on the backburner.
I created pixel art versions of myself, and a few various sprites for different elements of the game. |
